Special Shabbat on January 4th The Wednesday Talmud class will be celebrating the completion of their studies of the Tractate Megillot with the congregation on January 4, 2025, 4 Tevet 5785, with a celebratory Siyum after services. The Rabbi and class will study the last paragraph or so with the congregation after the Torah service, and recite a special Kaddish. The class began studying this tractate on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, meeting almost every Wednesday since, and will complete it this January 4, 2025. As far as we know, this is the first time in at least the last 60 years at Temple Israel that a class here has completed a tractate! In addition, Linda Prizer will be chanting the Haftorah, and may also chant the maftir Aliyah. That day marks Linda’s mother Ruth's 97th birthday! The Talmud class will sponsor luncheon after services. Please join us!
